“Students get tired of hearing me all the time. Walkabouts offer a different mode of teaching!”
– Caroline Duncan

Challenge

Based on research and what stimulates the brain and activates learning, elementary school educators are eagerly looking for ways to keep their students engaged and moving throughout the day. District administrators at Greenville County Schools found a solution in Walkabouts, a Pre-K to 2nd grade platform that integrates movement with language arts, math, and reading content.

Solution

When Duncan received notice of a district-wide implementation of Walkabouts, she was thrilled to use it with her students. With limited time to master new technology tools, it was key that the solution was easy to use and quick to implement. Within a few clicks, Duncan can search, select, and use a standards-based Walkabout in her classroom.

Additional Outcomes

Duncan uses Walkabouts with her students at least once per week and has found the platform is especially useful on rainy and cold days. Duncan saves instructional time with printable worksheets called Walksheets that align with each Walkabout and allow her to find creative ways to reinforce her lessons without creating new material herself.
